RFP Addendum No. 2
This addendum is issued to clarify the RFP and to answer the following questions received:
Can Finalists be provided with editable text of all engravings on the Stanley Cup?
This information may be available online. Finalists must undertake their own research.
Is the water system of the Bear sculpture still functional or under repair?
Assume that the disused fountain is functional. See RFP (Appendix L) for more information.
Is the triangle section from the site to the alignment of the street open for consideration in the design?
No. See RFP Addendum #1 Answer 12.
Is maintenance cost to be included in the $1.3M budget. If so, for how many years?
No. The ownership and maintenance will be the responsibility of the City of Ottawa. Please see Appendix B (Design Team/LSMMI Agreement) Section 21.1.
Is there electrical power at the monument site location that can be utilized, or the teams have to include bringing electrical power as part of their project?
There is no electrical service at the 4.0m x 10.0m monument site. The winning team will be responsible for any electrical installation.
Who will be paying for the paving repair on the monument site, if required?
The winning Design Team will be responsible for the paving within the 4.0m x 10.0m monument site and reinstating any areas outside the site caused by the monument installation.
Can the Finalists be provided with high resolution images and dimensions of the Stanley Cup?
No. Images should be included in a slide show or video presentation (please see RFP Page 10 requirements). A smart TV will be available at each Finalist exhibit station for use by the Finalists.
Will there be space in the exhibition to present the sample?
Yes. Each Finalist team will be provided with two 60cm x 120cm tables for the maquette, samples, and a smart TV monitor.
Will it be possible to have the sample at 1:1 scale at the exhibition?
All samples must fit on two 60cm x 120cm tables, alongside the maquette and TV screen.
What type of monitors will be utilized for the presentation? Do they have certain resolution requirements?
A 40” 720p smart TV will be provided. The TV screens will be compatible with any resolution.
For the final presentation the RFP states: “A video screen will be provided for each Finalist to present their Slide Show or Video presentation submitted to the Jury.” Does this mean that each Finalist would have to bring their own Projector for the jury and public vernissage?
Finalists will not be required to provide a projector.
Do Finalists have to choose between the Slide show or Video presentation, or can they use both Slide show AND Video in the presentation?
Finalists can use any digital medium to present their design, including both slide show and video presentation.
Is there a photo of what the base looks like for the model? Are there castors? Will the top of the base be solid or will it be a void with a frame?
The top of the base will be solid. The legs will have castors.
Can Finalists make changes to the digital presentation between the deadline (Sept. 2, 2016) and Jury Presentation (Sept. 22, 2016)?
No. The final digital presentation must be submitted via Dropbox on September 2, 2016. Please see the RFP Section 6.0 (Submission Procedures):
